Flights carrying passengers quarantined in Hanoi upon entry in Vietnam are reduced

This is the highlight of the Official Dispatch No. 12551/BGTVT-VT of the Ministry of Transport, regarding the strengthening of Covid-19 disease prevention and control.

According to this document, in order to strengthen the Covid-19 disease prevention and control, the Ministry of Transport demands the following tasks to be performed:

- Permission for flights carrying passengers quarantined in Hanoi upon entry in Vietnam is reduced.

- Continue to permit flights carrying diplomatists, professionals, investors, high-skilled workers, relatives entering Vietnam, and flights carrying Vietnamese workers to work abroad with the aim of fulfilling double objectives and economic recovery targets.

- Flights to Vietnam must ensure strict compliance with disease prevention and control regulations.

- Collaborate with agencies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Health in studying and formulating plans to help Vietnamese people come back home within the domestic receiving and supervisory capacity and in conformance to disease prevention and control demands.    

- Command Vietnam’s airlines to sell flight tickets to passengers wishing to enter Vietnam in a public, transparent manner to reach persons in need, prevent price gouging, profiteering and take prompt actions against violations.

- Collaborate with the Ministry of Health in commanding Vietnam’s airlines to strictly enforce the due quarantine of flight crews and flight attendants to conform to disease prevention and control requirements.
