New regulation: education type to be shown in undergraduate degree’s annexure

Ministry of Education and Training has just promulgated the Circular No. 27/2019/TT-BGDDT regulating main contents shown in undergraduate degrees and annexure.

The Circular prescribes that an annex to an undergraduate degree must contain the following main information:

(1) Holder’s particulars: Family name, middle name, last name, date of birth.

(2) Degree details: Name of the issuing educational institution, field of study, start date, educational language, time and level based on Vietnam’s national framework of reference and educational type.

(3) Information about educational contents and results (if any): name of module or subject, number of credits in each module or subject, point of each module or subject, total credits, general point average, name and results of thesis or dissertation, graduate grade point.

If a degree is conferred based on credits accumulated at different educational institutions, name of subject or number of credits in each subject must be clarified for consideration of fulfillment of graduation requirements, and name of educational institution must be provided as well.

(4) Information linked to a degree, including identity code of student or post-graduate student; serial numbers of the degree.

Circular No. 27/2019/TT-BGDDT is entering into force on March 1, 2020, replacing the Circular No. 19/2011/TT-BGDDT dated May 24, 2011, Circular No. 23/2009/TT-BGDDT dated August 12, 2009, and Circular No. 24/2009/TT-BGDDT dated August 12, 2009.
