The Law has an entire section intended for regulations on principles for humanitarian treatment of domestic animals applied to animal raising, transportation, slaughtering, research and other activities.
Especially, before slaughtering animals, slaughterhouses must fully anaesthetize them and must not let them see the others slaughtered.
In addition, during the slaughtering process, slaughterhouses must conform to the following requirements:
- Make domestic animals feel less fear and pain; avoid acts of cruelty and violence to domestic animals;
- Build facilities for keeping domestic animals which meets hygiene requirements and provide drinking water for animals before slaughtering.
