The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has recently issued the Notice regarding 2019’s national and Lunar New Year holidays intended for public officers, servants and employees of public administrative bodies, public sector entities, political institutions and socio-political organizations.
In 2019, public officers and employees will be entitled to 18 days off on the occasion of celebration of National Days and Lunar New Year, specifically including:
- They will get 04 consecutive days off on the occasion of celebration of Solar New Year from Saturday, December 29, 2018 to end of Tuesday, January 1, 2019, and take Saturday, January 5, 2019 as a replacement workday.
- They will get 09 consecutive days off on the occasion of celebration of Lunar New Year from Saturday, February 2, 2019 to end of Sunday, February 10, 2019.
- On Victory Day (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1), they will be entitled to 05 days off from Saturday, April 27, 2019 to end of Wednesday, May 1, 2019, and take Saturday, May 4, 2019 as a replacement workday.
Additionally, as prescribed by law, on the occasion of celebration of Hung Kings Commemoration Day, public officers and employees will get 03 consecutive days off from Saturday, April 13, 2019 to end of Monday, April 15, 2019.
Public sector entities that do not take automatic days-off on Saturday and Sunday every week will be expected to depend on their particular working plan and agenda to set an appropriate day-off schedule of their own.
The Notice No. 3238/TB-LDTBXH was issued on August 6, 2018.
